Mini #2 - Ako Session 1

Decided to try Palleton to choose a color scheme for this one. Always been a fan of teal colors, so started with that. Went for the "triad" option, just to see what it came up with, then took those colors and ran them through the paintRack phone app to match to my RMS paints.

So, the three baseline colors are:

RMS Marine Teal - this'll be a basecoat

RMS Leather Brown - might swap this to Tanned Skin, for the skin colors

RMS Flesh Wash - which would make sense for accents on the skin tones, but we can likely use RMS Rust Brown for a few smaller accent colors.

Printed out the 32mm base that comes with Ako, but it's way too small, so we'll need to do a custom job for that. Broke out one of the larger bases from the Hordes Two Player Box, since I never seem to actually manage to paint up the Skorne army from that, and we'll use that. It just barely fits, but should work.

Used some simple Crayola Air Dry clay to roughly sketch out a rocky outcropping with some dirt, nothing overly fancy. Can use the paint to add most of the details

Base painted using http://www.tinyworlds.co.uk/blog/painting-rocks-step-by-step/ as a guide.

Started with priming

Next a coat of GW Rhinox Hide for the earthen parts, followed by a drybrush of RMS Sandy Brown.

RMS Stone Grey basecoat on stones

Random washes of Reikland Fleshshade, and Nuln Oil over the stones and dirt to give color.
RMS Grass Green splattered in for moss. Will likely need either static grass or another wash once everything dries.

Retouched the Stone Grey, then a light brush of RMS Ghost White. Mounted Ako.

Staring with the eyes, then focusing on the skin with Ako.

RMS Tanned Skin for flesh, Marine Teal for body suit, and Rust Brown for hair.
